So I did a lot of soul searching, reading and asking questions that I didnt want to ask myself. In my research I came across Moslows Heigharchy of Needs. (I butchered that and am to lazy to look up how to spell it.) I then Paired it with the 12 steps taking a good look at the questions and where they fit in the pyrimd, I started to notice something the more I looked the closer to an answer I got. I came to the conclusion that Your not an alcoholic/ addict for life, there is a way to solve what your doing and its called not asking the real questions. Step one admit that you have a problem, well most would say Im an addict or an alcoholic but they arent being honest with themselves. If you have a problem what is it? why are you running to a crutch? what is that problem. I compared that to the base layer of the pyrimd and asked myself are my basic needs being met? Are my needs being met? If not which one? why isnt it being met? what can I do to change so that need is being met. then proceeded forward to a solution. I found that when I asked myself these things I started realizing more and more that my basic needs were being met and I moved up the pyrimid along with moved forward with a better understanding of myself and who I am. One of the biggest things we get hung up on is that if you drink again you will die. when thats not the case. Alot of alcoholics/addicts are runners. They would rather run from their problems then ask themselves the basic question what need isnt being met and what can I do to change the way I handle things to better myself. My sponsor always use to tell me that alcohol isnt the cause of the problem, its just a sign that there is something more going on underneath that needs to be addressed. No one ever said that facing your insecurities was easy but it sure will make you better.

Brandon, Thank you for taking your time to express your thoughts! Facing our insecurities has never been an easy thing, it's takes courage to face the things we've lived in denial about.
